Michael Pennell

Seen here at his college graduation from Clayton State in 2015 just one month shy of his 70th birthday, our father's life is best explained by fellow Irishman, C.S. Lewis, " You are never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream." Shortly after his graduation, Michael would spend the remaining years of his life living in long term care facilities with the same spark and determination he held fiercely throughout his life easily charming all who cared for him with his winsome wit and tall tales. He filled his days making plans for new adventures including a trip to Ireland with all his family and spending Christmas at the Biltmore House. When he said he loved you more than all the stars, that was the ultimate compliment, and we honor him here with all the stars and beyond. We ask all who visit here support the Thanks Mom and Dad fund so that many more elders can continue to dream a new dream. With Love Collin & Gigi

Katha Morgan

My Mom grew up with 8 brothers and sisters on a small dairy farm in Western North Carolina. She packed in so much learning in her younger years that when it was time to start school she skipped the first grade! Her love of reading continues to this day. Mom excelled in basketball in high school and studied Physical Education at Berea College. While raising her family, coaching basketball, and serving in leadership roles at her church, she dedicated more than 3 decades of service to the United Methodist Childrens' Home. She supported Dad in his many sporting endeavors and stood by him as a caregiver during the tough years he suffered from dementia. Mom is truly my hero and I appreciate the opportunity for her to shine on the Thanks Mom & Dad Honor Wall. -Susan Morgan

Chuck Ware

My father was a well loved man who was strong advocate for seniors of Georgia. He truly knew the meaning of not letting grass grow under your feet. Whether he was registering thousands of voters to make sure every one's voice was heard, lobbying at the capital or driving meals on wheels when you saw the White cowboy hat you saw Chuckles (as my aunt affectionately called him) with a smile on his face.

Virginia Cooper Herron

Mom excelled at many things -- she was a champion tennis player, swimmer, diver and a UGA cheerleader, as well as a Girl Scout Leader and community volunteer, but her favorite "accomplishments" were being a wife, mother and
grandmother. During her long life and nearly 65-year marriage, she made
everything more fun, from holidays to travel to everyday dinners at home. Although her memories faded in her final years due to Alzheimer's, she never
lost her enthusiasm and cheerful outlook, and she is deeply missed. - Julie Herron Carson
