A new way to help older adults while honoring those who came before us.
2020 is a year unlike any other for older adults in America. With the global pandemic many older adults are sheltering in place, taking precautions that were once unimaginable. While necessary, many of these changes put older adults at greater risk from social isolation, delayed medical treatment, and other emerging needs.
In the interest of safety, we pivoted and converted the Thanks A Million Gala into a virtual fundraising campaign. Now more than ever before, older adults need your support.
In the first weeks of the pandemic Thanks Mom & Dad Fund was able to make critical grants organizations serving seniors in across Georgia. The quick response and flexible funding allowed these organizations to meet the immediate needs for food, mental health services, and personal protective equipment.
But there is still much to be done! The lingering virus tells us that these urgent needs have also not ended. They still need help with food security, housing, transportation and other vital services. Older adults are at greatest risk and you can help
